    Memory leaks

    Hi Guys,

As far as I am aware, leaks are generally caused by circular references between the Javascript interpreter and the DOM. More than often the cause of these leaks are when you use expando properties or form closures around events.

I am solving these issues by nullifying all expando properties and dettaching all managed events. (Would I gain anything from "delete"ing the expando properties?)

Under what other circumstances are leaks likely to crop up? What about simply holding onto references?

    Thanks for any help,
    Ben

    This article is quite interesting.

We had some serious issues with IE 6 leaking (this did not happen in Firefox) that were solved by setting event handles to null.
