    Server load etc

In learning that some hosts seem to be tightening shared hosting specs, I'm wondering what a 'simultaneous process' is... as from this clip: 'number of simultaneous processes should not exceed 5'.

Is each part - for example, graphics and includes - of an individual webpage a 'process'?

This means that the number of process under your user ownership exceeds five then it will be killed.

Suppose you are running a cron then it will be counted as a process and if your website is accessed simultaneously from different locations then they are all separate process.

    Thanks.

Does that mean 'five different users, each simultaneously loading a page or part thereof' is the limit?

Your site is accessed by five separate users simultaneously. Then each might be handled by a separate apache child processes so in effect there are five processes.

There is no question of part of your page a connection once established means it will be responsible to deliver your entire site.

Hope this is clear to you.
