    Browser Checking

Hey, I have IE7 and my friend has IE6 and my transparent png wasn't transparent on her computer. I was wondering if anyone could give me some names/links to software that will allow me to check various browsers/screen sizes/browser versions through one program?

I consider this a tool associated with development so I hope it is in the right spot

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Download Microsoft Virtual PC, which allows you to run an operating system on top of your operating system.

Then download a hard drive image that has Windows XP and IE6 preinstalled. This page has images with XP and IE6, XP and IE7, XP and IE8, and Vista with IE7.

    No better way to test

    Could you rephrase that please?

Anyway, the alternative to is to use stand-alones which are unsupported and do have a few issues. For example, the favorites don't work in them. These explain how to have multiple versions of IE/Win on one installation of Windows.

sorry that I wasn't more clear - I've tried to use the virtual pc to set up XP pro, but either my XP disc isn't any good any more (likely) or I'm doing something wrong. I've tried several times to install it but it won't work - kept telling me that it couldn't install various and numerous files for whatever reason.

Why did you just download one of the free images from MS?

yes - I've downloaded the image that expires in July - is there one that doesn't expire? I'm going to try that, but I have to set my internet connections so I can use that version
