localhost not seeing php code

Hi,

I installed apache, then dreamweaver, and lastly php. When I test my site via localhost I can see my html code (even in a file with a php extension) but I can't see any php code. Not even a simple echo "blablabal".

Does this come from the order that I installed the apps ?
How can I correct this.

I do remember when I installed php it asked if I wanted to set up an apache server, and I answered No, as I had it already installed. Is this the error ?

If you installed Apache and PHP separately, you probably need to edit the httpd.conf configuration file to load the appropriate PHP module. Honestly, I would remove apache and PHP and just install WAMP, which gives you a full Apache+MySQL+PHP environment ready to go.
