    Comedy Website

I just got done reviewing a few other sites and now I'm hoping to get some feedback for mine. The site is http://blog.rednecklaughs.com. I'd appreciate any and all input on the concept, the layout, the load time, and anything else. Thank you for your time.

The site is interesting, looks simple and clean, needs more content in my opinion.

I like your design, it's neat and tidy, though there are a lot of ads...

But anyway, it's a nice entertainment site

    Viewing on Firefox 2.0

The right column takes FOREVER to load for me.

Colors/layout is a little awkward and annoying to me.

Are you going to do anything on the parent domain (rednecklaughs.com). It just says "test 1 2 3" right now.

Loading time is an issue (for the middle column), and layout is a little bit poor.

    Thanks

Thanks for everyone's input so far. I'm a little confused why everyone keeps pointing out not enough content when the site is only a week or two old and there is already almost 50 posts??? Also, can you guys please elaborate on what makes it a poor layout? Thank You

The layout is simple but lacks something... Not sure if it's the background that's too absolute red or the way the graphic title is spelled. Lacks definition. Either way those are just details.

Navigation is simple, jokes are, well, not for everyone but there's a niche for that sort of humor. Keep building content and I think you can have fun with that site.

    Hi,

The theme is overall looking good. I feel the center column seems little narrow or slim. It might be laid out on purpose. But you can use lot of space that is there in right column. Or you can post some weekly or daily funny cartoons on right side column in one of the blocks. And also you can integrate some funny news around the world. Just utilize the space with simple content with some contextual affiliated links. I think it will just run fine.

    Goodluck

Hi, overall I like your site design , the layout is good and neat.
Now you just need try to collect the attractive content as much as you can (but you must upgrade your server to hehee).
The other is cause the site have lot of ads, IMHO you may consider to make your site layout bigger.

This site took a very long time to load considering the images are basically solid colors. Your logo/header took up too much space for being pretty empty.

    Thumbs up

If you care to know my suggestion, find a different color than red, red is usually a color you don't want to use as much of on your site because it means caution to some. I'd recommend a blue or something. Also you don't know where the "visitors" eyes are usually going to set, so it would be wise creating a set of links below the right hand side of the header. Other than that it looks nice.

    Review

Loved the content the photos and the videos where all very funny. I like the concept of your site and would visit again.

I think the design of the site while simple in look, I think that you can do more with the creative design of the site to make reflect the brand. You have a grreat site concept and great domain name but the design layout needs to be more fun and use of more colors. See comedy central or jibjab sites.

These site are fun and creative.

Colors are awkward and hurt my eyes.
Too many ads but they are well placed for clicks.

    Love the concept!
Although, I've never been a fan of such advertising. Really gets in the way. :/

I like the site, but it's hard to be special running a blog these days.
How much visitors do you get on a daily basis?

Thanks again for all the replies. I've taken away some of the advertising and I think I fixed the load time issue. It seems most people hate the color/layout and one suggestion was to go for the look of comedycentral.com. I do like the layout of comedycentral but I definitely don't have the skills to pull that off. Anyone know anywhere where I could get a template simliar to comedycentral or at least a better template than I'm using now? Also, please let me know if you think there is still too many ads and if it still takes too long to load. Thanks so much!!!!

I prefer focusing on specifics, so:

    - The contrast on the bottom of the page is poor...not because there isn't enough...there's too much. You may want to consider making the background color here lighter.
    - The contrast or your choice of colors for the background and container borders (and perhaps border thickness) aren't the best imho, but they are definitely not very appealing at all at the footer.
    - Sort of a off-topic comment but, the "s" in rednecklaughs looks like an "8", if that matters to you.
    - Since you're using more-or-less a template for your containers through out the page, it might be worth your time to invest in visiting other sites and coming up with one common template that looks nice so that you can just replicate it.

Thats basically it, hope it helps.

    Reply Regarding Comedy Central Design

if you are looking for good graphic designers who can help you with the layout of your site. You should post a bid on Elance.com.

    Add or Content??

Your site loaded up quickly for me. I would probably like to see a larger content area, but I am aware how some of those templates work. I was sometimes unsure if I was looking at an Ad or at something related to your site on the sides. The ad's and your content seem to be sporadically mixed. That was quite the load that car was carrying
