    window.status not work with mozilla firefox

    Hi to all

    I have a link

    <a href="#" onclick="popup()" onMouseOver="window.status='http://www.google.com'; return true">Click here</a>

    I want to open popup on clicking link and onmouseover the link i want to show url in status bar .if i give it in href then onclicking it also go to that url

    i use mouseover function to give status bar url it work in IE7 but not in mozilla

    Changing the status text is something that's disabled by most users ('cause it's annoying most of the time).

    Use a proper href attribute and change your code to something like this:

    Code:
    <a href="http://www.google.com" onclick="return !window.open(this.href);">Click me</a>

    Modern browsers disallow web pages access to the status bar because too many thieves were making use of that option to conceal that the links people were about to click on were taking them to a fake copy of a banking site rather than to the real site.
