website won't show in IE

i just worked on making a website and have a html person doing it for me.

i can't get the buttons to show up or the font to turn out right in ie.

the person working on the site says everything shows up in other browsers but it,

any suggestions? help?

Ditch your designer straight away! They've built your home page using Microsoft Office and that will cause no end of problems.

Welcome to the forums. Your site looks fairly straight forward and should be fixable. What is your experience with html?

Don't worry... It's not the end of the world obviously.

The person who has coded the site has essentially done it the wrong way...

One problem is that they have used tables to construct the site which (nowadays) is seen as semantically incorrect since tables should only be used for showing tabular data.

Additionally it is a bad idea to do this:

    font-family: "Colonna MT";
    color: #FFFFFF;
}
.style7 {
    font-family: "Bradley Hand ITC";
}
.style8 {
    font-family: Castellar;
}

The class names (the selectors e.g. "style7") are all meaningless. Instead it should be logically named like "CenterBox", "OuterBox" etc. etc.

Also, it is a bad idea to use fonts on your page which some people might not have. You should at least set a font-group for people who don't have a font like Castellar.

Loren... Essentially you have two options: Either hire a real website designer to do it the right way or learn HTML (and CSS). Don't let it daunt you... It's not that difficult.
