Sorry...this question will be very fresh.Can anyone recommend an open-source CMS solution where I can build and manage a website? Currently, I have a domain name with a single holding page. Obviously I am no programmer, so am looking for a dummies-type fix. I actually don't even know how I would go about uploading anything to the url - but I suppose my host would be able to help me out there. Any suggestions appreciated.

A lot of people like Drupal. Whenever I need a cms evaluated for a specific purpose, I often use OpenSource CMS to see for myself how the admin and guest interfaces work.
It depends what you're wanting to do with it. If you're a newbie I'd suggest Drupal might be a bit too much for you. Wordpress or Textpattern might be better options.
I agree - WordPress is pretty simple to use and there are tons of add-ons to add extra features.
Depends on what you really want to do. If you want something simple to use, Wordpress for sure. Something really expandable and not too hard, Joomla. I like Joomla 1.5.x the most for the joomla solution.
What do you want to do with it? Give us a list...
