Server keeps going offline (please help me)

My server keeps going offline after hours of it been stable. I believe it is DoS attacks but I'm really unsure how to block them, would I need to get a firewall? if I do would this help the problem?

I really need help with this guys.

Im guessing here, if its DOS then they are page request by a bot army, and you would need to block all ip's which is impossible, and thats why dos works so well..

Have you made anyone mad?
Did this just happen and the server has worked fine before or is this a new setup?

I would try to figure out what the issue is 100% then choose what to do to solve it.

My host said the server has been online for 44 days and only one attach was made, he blocked the i.p and upped MaxClients to 1K.

Everything seems to be fine now though.
