    Review my Design Portfolio

    Hello Sitepoint

I'd like to get your critical opinion on the design and presentation of my portfolio.
What do you think of the quality of work presented?

    www.skywide.net

    Thanks in advance!

I love your design abilities. I think the way in which it is presented is great! That is if it were on its on portfolio page. You don't want any other type of content on your portfolio? No about me, resume at least?

Very original idea , is it yours ?
Can you try a different colour instead of that grey so you will have a blending with the main background ... what do you think ?

Everything great, but my suggestion is to change letter's size, it's impossible to see information properly. Take care.

Yes it is my idea. I'm not sure what you mean when you say grey. The background looks blue to me, and the foreground is gold?

Maybe Yiwu mean is 3WC (cmiiw)
    Hmmm about this maybe you can see in this link to analyze your site 3WC;
    - 3WC XHTML : http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...ww.skywide.net
    - 3WC CSS : http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...ww.skywide.net

Others is maybe for traditional user will be confuse in 1st time go to your site without know that is your portfolio before.

It will be better to add the About me section and tell your visitors at least who you are and give them a reason to trust you.

Also it would be more convenient for the visitors if you numerate your designs.

    Anyway, great design idea!
    Good luck!

reeally nice background picture. The way it repeat-x is really nice.

However i am not fund of you colour choice for the main content.background. Also i expected a design portfolio to be more "creative".

Another comment i have, is i really disapprove of a the http://www.skywide.net/images/button-1.gif navigation. Extremely inaccessible.

but some really nice work portfolio you have. (the http://www.skywide.net/images/08-2.jpg 's header is niiice)

I like the minimal approach, but for me, it's too minimal. I like to find out more about the sites, what work you did on them, what they're about etc. And especially for a portfolio site, it'd be good to find out about you, your experience, skill levels etc. As already mentioned by some of the other people who have rpelied to this thread.

You've made a lot of good looking websites too, looking through your portfolio.

Nice site. I love simple but effective designs and yours falls right into that category. Nicely done.
However, I do agree with a couple of the others here. You do need more content, such as "About Me" etc. But good work all round.

Suggest you use thumbnails for your pictures (or web page examples) to enlarge on click and/or a slide show (for convenience to viewer).
You need a navigation bar (examples) where it will be noticed
    http://newark1.com/
    http://www.wiidesign.com/
    http://www.visualedgedesign.com/portfolio.htm
    http://newark1.com/portfolio/
Just a few examples to show (check out the navigation)
    also try http://flash.dvd-photo-slideshow.com...ol_effects.php
to see some examples of slide show
    hope this helps

    Hi! Nice site!

Personnaly, I would add a text descrition at least on the first page (150 words )with well chosen keywords, meta descritions and <H1> for SEO.

Also when someone goes on your site, he doesn't know if you do the images and logo design or the whole website and everything. I think there isn't enough info about the service you are offering.

Lastly, the design we can see on your home page (the horse thing) is not your prettiest one. I would either choose a prettier one, or even better the UNICEF one which show you have been working for a such a big thing as UNICEF.

Well, you never really answered me, so I'll throw into the conversation. The site isn't very good. It's extremely boring but invasive enough not to be "minimal," and the mystery-meat navigation is a cardinal sin of portfolio sites. You can do better.

i think it would be better to have some sort of header above those circle things to select different portfolio entries... maybe even have them numbered or with different graphics, so the user knows which one they've already looked at.
