I started out with nothing... and still got most of it left!

Well done, man.
Damn, it's been two years already? Jeez, I never realised how long I've really been on Sitepoint.
haha

Well done spike. Any health improvements you've noticed? Teeth, gums, skin, breathing? And have you gained weight?

Congrats!!!

Good stuff! The savings must be astronomical too. A friend of mine cut down by about half when we worked out how much he could save. But it wasn't enough to get him to stop.
Good on ya Mikey.Seems even strange for me now, having met you just prior to quitting, but after 7 months I feel like I'll never smoke the damn fags again.. feel alien to think about it even.... Alys gave up in december, so now over 100 days for her too!.
Feels weird to be able to breathe down to the bottom of my lungs (Did you get this?) Although I have been training in martial arts a lot since I gave up, so I've surprised myself by losing a hell of a lot of weight since then... I swear all you need is heavy leg raises/kicks and stretches and that's what's done me good service!
Next thing for me is quitting drinking so much coffee...![]()

Congrats to all of you who quit smoking, but I want to admit that I do smoke and I do not regret it... for me it is luxury I want to have. I do make sports, I am vegetarian, I do feel well, I have the money and I weigh the same nevertheless.
There is just no passion to quit...
Never argue with an idiot
they drag you down to their level
and then beat you with experience

No one can force you to quit Lars so I wont even try! Its a choice you make just like anything else, if you dont want to quit then dont!
Andy, well done to both of you matey. It does feel wierd breathing properly and not thinking about where the next one is coming from.
Raffles - I dont want to think about how much I have saved in total, it wil make me think how much I wasted over the years!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry Lars, I felt the same for many years, only you will know when the time is right... and in all honesty no-one pushed me into my decision it was just a cumulative effect from many years of enjoyment that resolved to dissatisfaction.
Mike@ yeah, its funny when sometimes that reaction kicks in and there's no compulsion to follow the old habbit. Happens less and less now though in the beginning I found it a welcome comfort, strangely..![]()
nice one. its kind of hard for chain smokers.
