Starting my Business
Hiya,
I have finally decided to take the plunge and start my web design company. I have a couple of questions though
- Is there any contract templates that people know of or do I need to write one from scratch?
- Is there any type of insurance that is a definite must have when doing web design?
Thanks in advance"Am I the only one doing ASP.NET in Delphi(Pascal)?"

2. I see you're in the UK, I was asked to get a professional indemnity insurance by one of my clients before I could start work with them. I developed a custom CMS that was being implemented on a sub-site of their server.
Good luck with your venture!Dan G

The Web Design Business Kit SitePont publishes should have every document you need, including sample contracts.
Try Improvely, your online marketing dashboard.

I'll second the Web Design Business Kit. I got my copy a week ago and I was blown away by what was in it - the reviews and testimonials on the kit's Web page don't even begin to do it justice. (And SitePoint can quote me on that if they like, too.)

I would also look towards professional/personal indemnity insurance, as you will need some form of cover protecting you and your clients from any losses encored from your work should the worst happen. In fact it is question number 3 on my questionnaire to potential freelancer/outsource agencies (including to what value? which will dictate what projects and clients they are exposed to).
Edit: I see that you offer e-commerce so this is a must. You need to be able to protect yourself should your e-commerce product fail, causing your clients businesses to be unable to operate until it is fixed - it’s difficult to estimate the amount of cover required.
