China blocking content really isn't a new thing (often referred to as "The Great Firewall of China"). There are other countries that have censorship as well, but I couldn't pull a list off the top of my head.

I see one article says 25 countries block websites.

China,Iran, Myanmar,Syria, Tunisia and Vietnam had the most extensive filters for political sites.

Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen had the strictest social-filtering practices, blocking pornography, gambling and gay and lesbian sites

In some countries, censorship was narrow. South Korea, for instance, tends to block only information about its neighboring rival, North Korea.

How ggod are they at blocking websites? All the filters I know of are completey s*** but with the size of thier population they probably have a few million scouring the web for content "not in the best interest of China"
