    Wordpress and photos galleries

Which plugin do you use to manage photos content with Wordpress?

I do use Nextgen Gallery although I'm experiencing problems with IE6 (the thumbs appearing on top of the post which becomes impossible to read) and no problem with IE7

    What about you?

NextGen gallery, it's the best/easiest to use Photo gallery for WordPress by far.

Your issues with it are most likely theme related, not due to the plugin.

For more advanced photo galleries, you would need to move to Gallery2 or Coppermine, neither of which are particularly easy to integrate with WordPress. But it can be done if you are willing to put the effort in. The extra features of those larger, more advanced galleries are nice to have if your gallery will be a major part of your site.

    Flickr Photo Album WordPress Plugin

i gess this the best photo album for a wordpress blog,it seems to be realy atractive to me.
The Flickr Photo Album plugin was created by Washington DC web developer Joe Tan for a client at his company Silas Partners. What’s really great is that even though if was for their client, they released it under the GPL as an open source plugin. Kudos to Joe for developing such a great plugin.

I am using an outside system: coppermine gallery .. It's pretty OK and I can skin it easily to look like the blog.

    Thanks for your answer

    You are right

This bug with IE6 is theme related and it's too bad because I do not intend to change the theme

Great designs but ... this bug with this plugin & IE6 ...

Supposedly, Wordpress 2.5 is supposed to have a built-in photo gallery feature.

LastButNotLeast - if you post a link to the theme with NextGen installed we may be able to sort out the bug for you. Most of these type of problems are easily fixed with a little CSS.

Like Mongoose.wa mentioned, Wordpress 2.5 is going to have a built in gallery.

Here's a link to the official developer's "Sneak Peek"

Thank you! Nice proposal - Although I will wait the 2.5 upgrade

In the meantime I do have a better result with WP Photo Album even if Nexten Gallery is more user friendly

A customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times ...
What is the release date ?

It's supposed to come out in the next few weeks but there's no firm release date yet. If a photo gallery is crucial to your site and you can afford to sit on it for a while you might as well wait for 2.5's release.

The little bit of experimenting I have done with the new built in 2.5 galleries was not good, I might have done it wrong, but I ended up with .css in the body and images that were not the size they were supposed to be.

I have spent the last few days messing with the NextGen gallery plug in and it is very nice indeed.

I'm curious to see how 2.5 handles a built-in gallery feature. Photos in WP is something that's been a bit of a pain in my side. I've done the G2WP option. It's a bit convoluted and tends to break. I've tried NextGen, but it's not very intuitive (the gallery/album wording gets to be very confusing) and the process for adding new albums (or are those galleries?) and new items is a bit complex for my normal client.

I'm hoping that for the the built-in feature WP goes with simple and intuitive, rather than complex and powerful.
