I am just learning to use Dreamweaver (web-site editor/design program with both HTML and WYSISWYG functions). It comes with a site already made, as an example, that includes something called "Flash movies." Can anyone direct me to tutorials on the 'net that will help me learn how tomake these things? Also, is there a good general animation tutorial? Thanks!

Thank you, "werehere.com." I have downloaded one of your beginners' tutorials about making Flash movies.

Now, does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on animating .gifs? (I'm sure this is very basic, but I'm just a beginner, after all.) I have PaintShopPro but can't figure out how to use its animation shop to animate .gifs.

    Thanks again!

Keep in mind that you can use Flash to make animated gifs! You can export them from your Flash movie.

hmmm, you dont really need a tutorial on that.. get an animator, search for "gif animator" on www.download.com ...

or get macromedia fireworks, it does a good job of making animated gif's

flash exports good, but flash doesnt use gif transparecney features in layers hwen going from one frame to the next, resulting in HUGE file sizes for small animated images

    Hi jean_bridge

While I love Flash, for a number of reasons I would probably advise you to stick with Dreamweaver and HTML for a little while. Flash isn't particularly inexpensive, and it is a whole different universe. I know that I personally prefer to conquer one universe at a time ;-)

However, Animated Gifs are quite easy to make, so if you're looking for a dedicated GIF toaster I like Ulead's Gif Animator (http://www.ulead.com/ga/runme.htm) or
Gamani make a nice one( http://www.sausage.com/supertoolz/animation/)

As you already have PSP, take a look at http://pspusersgroup.com/ which is a good place for tutorials, tips and tricks etc.

You might be amazed what PSP is capable of !
