Longneck's is tough.... it looks like some sort of latch or spot where a door closes but I can't figure it out.

It is part of a much larger device/machine. The depth of field leads me to believe this is an extreme close-up. I first thought it was a musical instrument.
This one is very good! Directly in the spirit of the challenge.

My initial thought was the Bobbin on a spinning wheel. But, I feel certain that is incorrect.
My Guess: Part of a Lamp, specifically, where the Lamp Shade attaches
