I need an easy my_sql software....
Hello All:
My managers wanted me to create a php script and my_sql database to collect some information on the internet of people who fill out our online form which I did.
Now, they want to be able to access this db and do marketing stuff with it. I could easily do this on a monthly basis for them but I was wondering if there was an easy dumbed down version that like a receptionist could use.
Not to insult anyone here, just something not so techy as phpmyadmin or mysql tools that a layperson would understand. Be able to access the DB download/export it to a CVS file or something.
Thanks for any advice anyone has,
Paul********

P

Has anyone had a problem linking Access 2003 to mysql?
I've had no problem using access 2000, but a friend who does this every day at work using 2000, has been failing miserably to get it to work using 2003 at another site.Dr John

Thanks, must be something else causing the problems.
My antique laptop connected via Access 2000, and three other machines on the same network, all with Access 2003, failed to show any tables, but apparently connect to the database.Dr John

how was the link accomplished? if myodbc was used, then it would have to be installed on all of the computers where the database is used, plus have correct ODBC entries made.

Yes, myodbc was used and the latest driver downloaded onto each computer a second time to be sure we all had the same version.
We went through every entry in the set-up on my working laptop and the office PCs with a fine tooth comb and could find no differences.
Very frustrating. Especially as it took about one minute to get it working on my laptop after downloading the driver, and I hadn't even done this for a while and was a bit rusty. I definitely don't think I did anything clever to make it work either.
The only difference was I had access 2000 and they had 2003.Dr John
