Hi,

i use an input type=file to allow users to upload file to database.

I would like to know how can i setup the length of the field where will be written the file name ?
in fact, how can i set a particular design (length, color, font,..) for the field and the button, but separately ?

File selector fields are notoriously difficult to style with CSS, so the best course of action is probably to accept that and get on with life.

You can try to set the overall width of the field using the width property. That width will include the Browse button, though.

Opera 9 honours this setting, as does IE6 (although it makes it slightly wider than specified). Firefox 2.0 ignores it, though.
