    Mac style navigation

    Hi

I want to add a navigation bar to one of my sites, that look and work similar to the Apple nav bar, or even RocketDock.

When you mouse over a icon, its size increase and when you leave hover state, it sizes back to normal.

    Is this possible? Any ideas?

thanx alecrust. That's exactly what i'm looking for.

But.. reading the usability issues.. I might look for an alternative.

Maybe something not entirely "dock" style. But some similarities? My idea being: having an image in my navigation, and with the mouse over of that specific image, its size increases a bit? Thereby even when java is disabled, it will still have the static images?

    Does this make any sense?

It is important you know that Java and JavaScript are two entirely different things. For the example I showed, JavaScript is required.

Unfortunately, to acheive such an affect, either JavaScript or Flash will be needed. More people have JavaScript disabled than Flash, so you may prefer something like THIS.

Good question, and one I can't answer. It's just been the common understanding where I work that more people have Flash enabled than JavaScript.

I guess it's because there is a big buzz about how JavaScript can be malicious, but no so much with Flash.
