    WP Google map plugin

    Hey all.

Whilst I've been able to use Googlemap's API to create nice neat location maps for businesses - I've got a new challenge coming up.

It's a blog for a couple who'll be travelling overland from the UK to Australia. I was wondering if there's a plugin or some tips somewhere on possibly feeding in their GPS location and bringing up a map (Googlemaps?) - sort of like "We are Here". It would need to be a user-easy way for them to do it though.

I may be asking for something that doesn't exist though!

It is possible to insert the code for the map via the theme and then use functions.php to control some markers which could be controlled via the admin panel. They could simply add their coordinates in there and update their Google Map while on the move. If done correctly it could be quite idiot proof.

Or are you wanting something which operates on the fly? As in live transfer of data from their GPS locater? If so, then that's well beyond my realm of knowledge.

Thanks to both of you. It wouldn't need any sort of actual time thing - just an easy way of them occasionally updating a map in a "We are here" post.

Micfo.com - that looks like it could do the trick nicely - I could probably set it up so they enter their GPS co-ordinates via a custom field to make it simple for them.

    Thanks!

That plugin looks a lot easier to implement than my idea.
