Have you guys seen the new Google Analytics benchmarking service? It lets you add your analytics data anonymously into a pool so you can measure your stats against other sites in your market. Scary? I don't know. I don't think so.
I'm a starter anyway. I have a hell of a time getting accurate comparisons. Even if Google's offering isn't the best, there's a fair chance it will be at least moderately useful. Who knows, it might turn out to be absolutely awesome. I'm reasonably optimistic.
The data went live today and I saw how my sites stack up against the benchmarks. All sites are divided into three categories (small, medium & large) and you only get to measure a site against the benchmark for its designated category.
Unless I'm missing something there's no obvious way to see which category you're competing in, so I drew up a rough guide deduced from on my own stats. If anyone can help narrow it down I'd be grateful.
