    Element slider

I've searched the forums, but couldn't find anything remotely of what I was looking for. I apologize for the vague description, but what I'm looking for information on how to slide information like the http://news.yahoo.com 'ticker?' or the page slider on the mozilla website.

Basically the functionality is when you click on a button, it looks like page 1 will slide into page 2 and during this time, page 1's text or images will disappear. Here's a picture of the element I'm talking about on yahoo.

Is this done inside of a div? Can this be done with prototype? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

All it requires is a fixed width for the container, with the scrollbars turned off.
Then you use javascript to update the scrollLeft property of the container to move the contents.

I've used a similar technique on my Autoscroll Navigation examples.
