    Why do I have a PR n/a?

    Hi guys,

I just want to know, why does my site have a PR n/a even though it was previously a PR 3?

The only thing I can think of is that my blog gotten a 1000 over links from a site that I bought recently, and I placed my URL in the footer. Didnt think this sitewide linkage would cause this PR n/a?

What should I do, any advice? Even if I remove my link in the footer, it won't change anything now, will it?

What's wrong with me putting a link to my own site from my own site?...

Can I leave it on, and hope the PR comes back the next update? What do you think?

What have you changed in the site content-wise?

Periodically Google updates their PR system. How long has it been like this?

Nothing... my blog is just my humble blog...that's all...never sold links...or anything like that. It became PR n/a this update, but all the other sites have had their PR finalized already.

I believe I'll end up with a PR n/a after this update is over, if it hasn't already....

Page content has nothing to do with PR.

Google isn't too fond of crazy cross linking between sites you own, are the sites related in regards to theme?

Yep, the sites are quite related...tech and web....stuff.

Should I remove the links? But will it help now?

Or just leave it on, because I want to advertise my blog.....on my own site. What's wrong with that?

When I say page content, tke71709, I mean all HTML text on the page. This includes links. And links affect PR. Sorry for not being clearer.

PageRank is not really that important any more besides. Have a look at THIS article.

I've seen sites with PR n/a getting their PR back....so I'm not too worried. I know everyone says PR is not important, but if this is your main blog, it's not nice to have a PR n/a....

I wonder what Google wants. Is this PR n/a a reaction to those influx of links, and nothing to worry about...it will come back next update...or....

What about guys who release WordPress themes...with their link in the footer....isn't this worse? Yet, I can tell you all the guys who release such themes, and the themes happen to be popular...they get so many thousands of links almost overnight. Why doesn't it affect them, since many of those links are not related...the users could have used the themes for some porn site... you never know.

The toolbar is not always accurate and contains stale data anyway. If your site's rankings are unaffected you have nothing to worry about. It is probably just a glitch in the toolbar and is nothing to be concerned about.

That's a good point actually by stymiee. Check the results at a few different places, to see if they are the same.

Thanks for the encouragement, Stymiee, but I bet the current update has almost finalized, if it hasn't already. I see some sites demoted to PR 0 and others no change, A few went up.

But mine is a PR N/A....quite distressful, since it is my main blog.

I checked with many checker tools and they all say the same thing, n/a....

If you are still indexed then it's undoubtedly a toolbar issue. If you were being penalised in any way then this wouldn't be reflected in PR, but in rankings. The exception to this would be a total ban, but if you're still indexed obviously this isn't the case.

AFAIK there is no update going on. Google does not update their toolbar often and then next anticipated update is not until April. I wouldn't put any stock in what the toolbar is reporting right now. I also would not worry about it just in general. Your toolbar PR is meaningless. Watch your rankings. when they disappear then you should start worrying.
