    Hi,

    It looks as though your main error is here.

    Code:
         #bodycontent p, li {padding-right: 230px;}
    You have applied a great big padding to every list element. I think you meant to do this instead.

    Code:
         #bodycontent p,#bodycontent li {padding-right: 230px;}
    The header image isn't showing because you need to leave a gap after the closing bracket in the background shorthand like this:

    Code:
         h1 {
      text-align: center;
      font-size: xx-large;
      color: white;
      padding-top: 1.45em;
      padding-bottom: 1.45em;
      padding-left: .4em;
      margin: 0;
      background: #663300 url(http://www.thebabyboomerslife.com/ba.../header-bg.jpg) repeat-y right;

    }
    You also need to address the default margin and padding. To remove them all you can use this:

    Code:
        * {margin:0;padding:0}
    Then you would need to specify the correct amount for every element you use.

    Alternatively look at a reset technique like this.

    A should point out that using absolute positioning for layouts is rather limited and won't allow you to have a footer under both columns. If this is not a problem for you then don't worry. Otherwise you would need to look at using floats instead.

    Hope that helps
