    We are used to using front page for esigning static pages
    we are now considering a project with php & my sql

    How do i save the page with the extension php3
    will front page allow to do so

    Please guide

    Yes, You can do it.
    There is no reason why the HTML editor will not understand the PHP scirpt.

    I guess i have not been able to put my question correctly let me repeat
    Suppose i design a page in frontpage it will save it with a default extension .htm
    If i want to design a page with embedded php commands I have to save the page as .php or .php3
    How to do this I hope the question is clear

    yogi. correct.

    standard html pages can be saved with .htm, .html

    php enhanced pages can be saved with .php, .php3, .phtml (depending on you hosting providers set-up)

    Look in the options for Frontpage and see if there is anywhere you can change the default extension. If there is then change it to PHP. If not then you might want to look towards a new program. Evrsoft FirstPage 2000 handles PHP among many other document types and it is free. You can at least try it. Another good program is Allaire Homesite.
