The internet is becoming increasingly more popular than television more and more everyday which is why TV networks are getting more worried. This is also why you've seen a shift from programming 8 years ago to today where almost every single TV show, especially reality shows incorporate the internet in some way or another.

I slighting disagree with both!
The internet is excellent for finding material that would normally be broadcast on TV, but I still prefer to flop on the sofa, and watch videos on my tele than sat at a desk getting neck ache looking at a computer monitor.
I am a proud owner of the Archos 605 WIFI, and its great at allowing you to take content off the internet, and watch it in your perfectly molded sofa spot of your butt.
CONCLUSION:
To round it off, I still feel that TV still serve a purpose over the internet, and feel that people will still be watching TV for many years to come, until the internet wipes it out completely. Feel Free To Correct Me otherwise!

they need more divices to integrate the tv with the computer... kinda like a ps3-ish kinda thing with a video/movie downloads sling-box kinda thing. all integrated and can work as a full fledged PC/MAC. Couple that with a big screen lcd and nice sound system and wireless keyboard and maybe voice recognition. then we will be cooking with grease.

I think it depends on the person. For me, yes, the internet is more popular. I find myself watching the news and even reading the newspaper online. Now my dad, he's not very computer literate, so television is more important. But overall, I think the internet is becoming more and more popular with most people.

Does listening to TV count? I like having BBC on in the background when I'm not listening to music, which is about 50% of the time I'm using the computer. Well, BBC, CNN, Fox, anything but Swedish programming... it sucks.
