Phenomenon background in Mac Safari help?

Hi im currently making a site for a client and i have been testing in different browsers but came accross testing the site on Mac Safari and there is a weird shade of color in the background just by the footer area.

Any ideas on how to remove this? I would need someone with a Mac using Safari to test and possibly help me to resolve the problem.

    The site is here !

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Sorry I don't have access to a mac but it seems to look ok in safari3 for windows though.

I had a look with some browerscam shots but it's not clear if they display the issue you mention.

Hi Paul... yeah they do show the problem.

The problem is between the footer and the content section, it's a different color to the background.

I have looked at my css and there isnt a problem there, so could it possibly be a Mac bug?

it's not safari, it's your background image
it ends right where you point and the background color does not match the edge giving you a different shade
PC is kind of colour blind and Mac has a perfect color management.
That's why graphics has to be created on Mac and then to test on PC

You have to make bg image much longer of use a mac to calibrate colours.

What? That makes no sense at all...

Anyways regardless recreating the image on a Mac will not solve the problem will just shift the colors on the PC side.

...you can make a GIF or JPEG look good for a PC or make it look good for a Mac but not both simultaneously.

logic_earth, you are just a troll with no idea about macs, pcs, gifs, etc.

And you are not banned yet. Surprisingly.

lol Then back up your statement but if all you can do is call me a troll then I guess you don't have one do you? If you want to question my intelligence then you better have something to back it up. Otherwise you will just look like an Apple fanboy.

And why would I be banned? I have not broken any of Sitepoint's rules.

    Hi,

Use these three attached images instead of yours which I saved in Fireworks and seems to fix the issue.

    Nothing really .

I just loaded your images into Fireworks and resaved them. Fireworks seems to be able to output them ok for pc and mac.

Paul: That's really interesting to know, but surely not ALL web-designers have to use fireworks to fix this bug. Is there not some solution in photoshop? I mean I've never seen this problem on any other website...

It may be that it only happens in certain circumstances or perhaps the original images were altered in some way and the information was corrupted or changed. Optimising can have an effect on the final result and information may be lost.

However, graphics aren't my strong point but I know that Fireworks handles other format better in some instances. See Alex's articles on transparent png 8 images for example.
