    progress bar

    Hello, does everyone know a full tutorial about integrating a progress bar into a Rails app while it is loading a file.

    I have a view with a file loader and I would like to provide feedback about the loading though a progress bar, I found online something but now working sample.

    Thanks and have a good 1!

    Here is a tutorial for doing it with Mongrel and DRb:

    I believe that this was the first way people got it to work, yet I haven't heard of any other methods.

    You'll need to implement a remote form setup and have the loading parameter show an image and the complete parameter hide the image.

    1. Setup a remote form (http://api.rubyonrails.com/classes/A...r.html#M000960)
    2. Put your image somewhere on the page, give it an ID and set it's style to display:none.
    3. Add the :loading and :complete tags to your remote form:
    Code:
    :loading => "Element.show('myimageid');",
    :complete => "Element.hide('myimageid');"
