I need someone fairly proficient in mysql to help me set up a database. I have all the files I need for it..but the person who originally developed it seems to have vanished from SitePoint.

If you have a dump of the data together with the metadata for the tables (i.e. made with mysqldump) then bringing the DB back online is easy. Start mysql,
then
thenCode:use database_name;
HTHCode:source filename_with_all_data;
