    php ot html for seo?

    I'm making a site on php...

    say for example...the index file is like this...
    ----index.php------------------
    <? include header.php; ?>
    <b>welcome to......
    .....
    .....
    <? include footer.php; ?>
    -------------------------------

    Is that a better way to make files for SEO?
    Coz...I follow the above method of making
    to all my previous websites.
    But now after looking into some SEO materials...
    I'm thinking to keep a flat index.html rather
    than index.php as above.

    Please let me know whether that dynamic index.php
    is not effective for SE rankings....

    Thank u

    It won't make a bit of difference, since all the search engines will see is the generated HTML (or the flat HTML if using a static page).

    I also wouldn't trust a lot of the "SEO material" out there anyway. Two sources I recommend highly are the Search Engine Optimization FAQ right here on SitePoint and Chris Beasley's SEO Guide.

    Agreed, it is amazing how many people still truly believe that different server side programming languages for rendering HTML have different SEO values.

    People still think meta tags are important so it's no surprise to me.

    Well, the description tag is still useful to provide a relevant description of your web page in search results, we all know how great Google is at taking snippets

    Yes, but you forget everyone believes into "exactly" what they read, so I had to throw it out there for the sake of arguement, next thing you know people will be referencing that post that no meta tags are useful

    Do blue cars or green cars go faster?

    Once you work out which colour car goes faster then the best language to use for SEO is obvious.
