    IE6 fix - positioning and background image not showing

    I know this has been discussed ad infinitum, and I have really tried to fix it myself by reading posts and trying all sorts of fixes. If someone could help me troubleshoot the problem, I'd really appreciate it - I hope it'll just take a quick look to know what IE6 is doing!

    My site works fine in FF, ok in IE7 and is destroyed in IE6. The background images for linkbar, content and footer divs do not appear at all, and it makes the positioning all wrong. Here's the CSS for the structure.

    #container {
    margin: 0px auto;
    width: 797px;
    padding: 10px;
    overflow:hidden;
    }

    #header {
    background-image: url(Images/banner.jpg);
    height: 143px;
    overflow:hidden;
    }

    #linkbar {
    background-image: url(Images/linkbar.jpg);
    background-repeat: repeat-y;
    overflow: hidden;
    }

    #content {
    background-image: url(Images/content.jpg);
    background-repeat: repeat-y;
    padding-left: 80px;
    padding-right: 80px;
    overflow:hidden;
    }

    #footer {
    background-image: url(Images/footer.jpg);
    height: 63px;
    padding: 80px 80px 0 80px;
    overflow: hidden;
    }

    The URL is www.sabi-star.com

    Thank you!

    You need to give #content a width or height.

    Thank you! I gave the structure divs a height of 1% and it brings up the background images, but alignment is all off. I think it is to do with negative margins and floats, I shall investigate.

    Thanks for your time and solution.
