Does anyone know what this code does?

Was just viewing source on www.14trips.com and noticed this in the head tags. Does anyone know what this does? I haven't seen :* in the selector before, nor have I seen something like #default#VML for the URL.

It has something to do with VML, I however do not know enough to tell you what, but I am guessing something to do with applying .css to it.

It is a Microsoft-specific property that is declared for all tag names starting with 'v:' (like <v&#58;oval>...</v&#58;oval>).

In more standards-compliant CSS3 syntax, this would be,
