    web usability standard: please helps

    I've just tested the new site I've been working for the last 4 week.. and now its time for testing...

    I am trying understad why is any .gif Image is looked as bad:

    here is sample: Non spacer IMG with equivalent ALT

    images/khlogo.gif (line: 22) :
    ALT="Kennedy Haywards"

    Now I know for fact that this is not spacer image as by name you'll know its the logo... and ALT tag is also defined then why I am getting this error?

    and it continues? what m I doing worng?

    if you want to look at the full report visit:

    it will only be there for few days...

    thank in advance if you can enlighten me on this.

    It is not actually saying it is wrong, it is just promtpting you to check that you have provided a suitable descriptive ALT attribute.

    First thanks for explaining...

    Now How can I specify that some image is a space image so that it does not comes up as an error message when dealing with a site with over 200 ages its really hard to keep track of things...

    is there a way to let the validation system know that something is a sapcer image ? I've tried setting the name=spacer but still no help.

    any idea.. I am just getting in to this usablity thing.. so I am not really sure of how the entire WA 508 defines...

    Where can I get a copy of the 508 standards? which is explaind so that its not hard to pick up... I dont get that much time to read while working on freelance projects but when working on full time project its worth while...

    thanks in advance.
