    Customized alert box

When using alert(), how can I set it so that there is no Close X and a customised title bar?

    Thanks,

    Jon

You would need something other than an alert(), a customized window popup maybe. It would be impossible to customize it.

Ahh ok. I am so used to Visual Basic where you can alter the popup windows title bar etc.

What do people do to create a better looking popup window? I am using it for form validation, so that if a field is empty the user gets warned before going to the next page.

The user can dismiss the alert dialog pressing OK or by pressing the close button. What would be the benefit of removing the close button?

It just looks a little cleaner. The thing I don't like the most is the Title bar text that says, "The page at http://www.mysite.com" and I can't read the rest because it is too long. Can I remove that text?

You could create your own custom dialogs using the Yahoo UI Library:
    http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/
See the Container family of components, including SimpleDialog.
