need I bother installing an event handler script

Do I need to bother installing an event handler script (that works in mozilla and ie) to assure that these scripts will load after the page if the script is minimal?

For my first n00b site, I'll only be using two small javascript functions: a "last modified" message in the footer and an e-mail cloaking script in my left vertical menu for a "contact me" now link.

The document is validated xhtml/css and pretty simple.

My short term objective is to get this site on-line so I can get on to other projects. My medium term objective is to refine it as I learn (including getting an understanding event handlers, which seem pretty key).

You don't need an event handler script for those. Just place the code at the bottom of the body and it will be able to successfully work with the DOM from there.

    Thanks again.

Great, Thanks! Only one more hole to fill. I really appreciate the input. -- rbfree
