    Not just another keyword site... i hope

    This is concept site I am working on inspired by the 30 Day Challenge. During the challenge they describe a method to find more accurate keyword traffic from Google - opposed to Wordtracker.

    While analyzing keywords I decided that I needed a way to store all the good ones... and so the Niche Warehouse was born

    http://www.vividlamp.com/niche

    I'm interested to get peoples feedback relating to:

    Is it clear that these keywords have been filtered and some analysis has been done for you?
    Is this tool useful? Is there any other analysis which might be good to add?
    How easy is it to use?

    A good example search would be golf as it shows the use of icons in the analysis column:
    http://www.vividlamp.com/niche/index...arch_word=golf

    Please note:
    When you click on the Google Trends icon most keywords return "not enough data" as the free search is only for low traffic keywords (less than 50 per day).

    Thanks for your feedback in advance,

    Simon.

    When I used the tool I was not that impressed with the results I got. The results were related to the words I put in, but I wouldn't say any of the results were related to my website at all. I am not sure if I am missing the point of this tool.

    On a more positive note, looking at your example, 'golf,' I love the demographic and seasonal icons. Where do you get that information from?

    The idea behind our site is to help people find good (or great) performing keywords that will possibly rank well in Google. The site could be used to brainstorm ideas for a new web venture or help increase rankings for an established website.

    Most keyword tools give you millions of keywords and say - "you can find the ones that will perform well". Our site only contains phrases that we have filtered through and regard as "high traffic / low competition" keyword phrases. This means all the analysis has been done - including traffic, competition & KEI. We don't show keywords that have too much competition or too little traffic.

    To make it easier to search for keywords you can also use the tag cloud on the free search page by clicking on a description: http://www.vividlamp.com/niche

    I use Microsoft AdCenter Demographic tool mostly to analyze the demographic info... this is added manually on a broad match basis.

    Thanks for the feedback, hope to hear from others out there.

    Simon.

    My no means am I an expert or anything...learning all too much here for myself but I thought I would be a good candidate to try this since I do not know what I am doing ...Ok maybe I am doing something wrong...
    I tried to do a search for southwestern decor, then southwestern. did not return anything....then I did a search for southwest decor ..it returned something . In the related tags: it returned nothing and under Premium Results but I will say it is a bit confusing... I get the idea I think
    I also would but a little bigger to register to view uncensored results...I thought at first the XXXXXXX XXXX where and error. It is a bit small to see that to get that info you need to register...(even though I am sure it is a no brain-er. But for people like me that are clueless to what they are doing hehehe .Its not so much a no brain-er
    If you want me to try any more let me know.
    Being that I am sure most people that will come to your site will be people that don't know what they are doing . I would be glad to be your test dummy and help in anyway

    Nice and simple and I guess it gets the job done. However, the top banner (the red/orange thing) could be a bit more attractive while taking less space.

    Thanks for those tips... I was wondering if people were confused by our site. The reason no results came back is because we have not processed the keywords "southwest decor". I will be making some changes this weekend based on your comments. It would be great if you could do some basic testing for us... i'll PM you once I've made the changes to see if ur still interested.

    @krissauquillo
    I agree the site is a bit plain and simple, we are currently focusing on the keyword functionality and probably improve the design of the page a bit later on.

    Thanks again for your feeback.

    Don't know if your targeted audience is experienced or beginners.
    Experienced webmasters would know what it is about. Inexperienced users might want to know what long tail is, how it is better than "Wordtracker or Overture", what they are looking for, etc. I tried it and the words I tried are not listed, meaning (I think) that they are too popular or not evaluated.
    What does spy and inspire mean. I tried them, but again, not related to my site.
    hope this helps

    I agree with navyfalcon. Im a fairly experienced web user but I was still a bit unsure about what all of the information meant. What would be really useful would be some tool tips for the table columns explaining exactly what the information means.

    For example the "Approx. Google Traffic" column needs to state exactly what the value refers to and a lot of people will not know what KEI stands for. You could say that the target audience should now what these things mean, but new webmasters just starting out wont necessarily and they need all the help they can get.

    I agree, I need to put more information on the page to explain what everything is. I have started to re-design it to include more detailed descriptions and have also included a summary on the results page to attempt to explain why no results are returned - (ie. too popular or not yet analysed etc)

    I'm thinking I need to add a website suggestion tool, which allows people to enter a URL and have keyword phrases returned related to their site.

    @saj9000
    That is a good idea. I will add some tool tips to the column headers soon.

    Thanks for your feedback

    Some of the keywords I entered did not display any results.

    cashflow not yet processed
    The keyword you have searched for has not been analyzed at present.
    This will be placed in a queue for consideration and may be added to our database after our analysis and calculations have been made

    Thanks, I will take a look...

    @jvfconsulting
    That message just means we don't have the keyword in our database. We are currently adding new words all the time... some keywords may never get added due to them being too popular or have too much competition.

    Design wise I think I'd declutter the front page a bit... maybe explain a bit what long tail keywords are as well. Nice site though. Not sure what it'd be useful for but the information it has on keywords I'm sure would be useful to advertisers.
