While finding hosts using Paypal should be easy, finding "good hosting" can be tricky.

Yup, you'll have to look out for money back guarantee, uptime guarantee, fast response, quality support, etc... not an easy job..

I haven't heard a lot of good things about them on various webhosting forums. Of course on this forums you read about more negative than positive, but I don't think I've ever seen a positive thing about godaddy's hosting offerings.

They are ideally not recommended for shared hosting. They dont use standard control panel(use their custom cp) and support is not very helpful(just push a copy of tos/help file if you ask for some extra help!).

But from my personal experience, they offer nearly 100% uptime. Yes, I do track with third party service providers and the result has been amazing. If you are looking for just a nonsense host and wont need much support, you may actually go with them.

On the other hand, hostgator is very friendly and helpful.

Hmm... for what i always heard, godaddy is superb in domain registration, but horrible in web hosting.. maybe you can confirm this with present & ex godaddy's clients?

Truth be told, guarantees are not worth all that much. What one needs to do concentrate on is finding feedback regarding the actual service of a given company. The search feature of forums like this one, and other hosting forums should be of great help in that regard: http://www.google.com/Top/Computers/...ts_and_Forums/

I think almost any host will accept Paypal now, it has almost become a standard for online payments but alas there are many other types too.

I think almost all the web hosting companies are ready for web hosting transactions through PayPal.Paypal is more secure than credit card because the low security system of credit card presents countless opportunities for fraud .At the same time PayPal has good security system. It has an additional security system that protect the accounts from frauds. So the companies are giving more preference to PayPal. Hostgator, Godaddy, and Rackspace, are some of them.

GoDaddy use their own custom version of the Plesk control panel. They also place a proxy server between sites and the rest of the web which breaks the processing in some scripts (eg. Paypal IPN).

I have been with BlueHost for the last 18 months and am extremely happy with the service that they provide. The problems have been minimal and support has resolved the few issues that there have been quickly and efficiently. Of course with the number of servers that they have, not everyone has had the same experience as unfortunately some computers seem to have more problems than others. All of my payments to BlueHost have been via Paypal. BlueHost will also refund your entire payment (less domain fees if any) if you are not happy and leave within the first month. They prorate the refund after that. BlueHost use cPanel.

I have heard that GoDaddy put about twice as many accounts on each server as BlueHost does but as I have no way of verifying how many accounts are on any computer other than the one my hosting is on, I can't confirm whether or not this is true.
