    Angry Gripes . . .

Often I see people complaining a little bit about this and that. They do not like how this is done, what kind of response they get etc. A thought occurred to me. Maybe we should have a thread called Gripes, where people can just vent about anything that bothers them, keeping in mind that religion and politics is off limit, also personal attacks as well.

So here is my gripe for today: When you need a bandage real fast because you have cut a finger, you have to fumble forever with that paper wrapper to get to the bandage. The carpet has drips of your blood by now, but still you have to peel more paper to get to the actual bandage to cover up that cut. Oh how it bugs me!

Just wrap a section of your shirt (or any readily available rag) around it and apply direct pressure until you get the bandaid on.

Yeah, I use a paper towel if it happens (not really that often, but I cut up a lot of stuff when I cook), but still, I fumble with the darn paper wrapper. And they are not easy to open even if you are without an injury.

The same goes for the child proof bottles of all sorts. Squeezing those lids is supposed to work, but… i fill all this kind of stuff into other containers to save me from the aggravation…

Oh yes, that feels bad. Hot soup does that sometimes too, I feel so foolish when I do that.

Did you ever take a nail and stick it up your nose, then hit it real hard with the palm of your hand? Man that hurts. I hate that.

I hate the packaging for memory sticks for your camera... the chip is about an inch tall and the package is a foot tall and so freakin difficult to open.. once you open the 1 foot package thats vacuum sealed, you find the chip in a smaller packet thats vacuum sealed...

The next time I buy something like that, I'm going to vacuum seal my cash twice in extra large packaging and pay for it. If I have to struggle for my product, you are not getting my cash easily either.

I'd say packing in general for electronic accessories is too much of a pain to open. There was a time when I would buy something like a usb stick, or memory stick, extension cord, and try to open with just my hands. After about 30 seconds I go for the scissors and make a cut somewhere, then try ripping it open, but instead I just break a small piece off. Of course now I just go straight for the scissors and cut all the edges off, but sometimes it feels like these things are designed to withstand a nuclear blast, I just want to use the product I bought. I look the idea of vacuum sealing my money ... would serve them right

Youtube not using title attributes on links! If you're watching a video divided into several parts, and the video title is very long, it's truncated. So if the tile is "Very Long Video Title, Part #2", it is displayed as "Very Long Video...". Good luck sorting out the needed part if there are more than 2 of them! How much did Google pay for this crap?

I really hate when tv stations cut to an ad break at stupid times during a show - sometimes even mid-sentence. VERY annoying. Also hate it when they go to an ad immediately after a wicket in the cricket and you don't get to see the replay straight away, then they come back to the play and there is no time to squeeze in the full replay before then next ball is bowled. How is the viewer supposed to make sure the umpire got it right??????

Good thread Datura - this could go on for years!

I find it annoying that Google Video has a better search function than Youtube. Moreover it has the option to sort by title which is pretty handy when you watch the predidential debates or something that's split in ten parts but Youtube can only locate the first 5 snippets of it's own content! I hope somebody at Google realizes that and starts working on the youtube search function because it's rubbish.
