    Google Trends

I use this tool for keywords research...

Any reason to use trends.google.com with it?

You can compare the actual search volume between keywords, which is useful to see which keyword get more orgnaic traffic then another.

Google trends when combined with a keyword suggestion tool is a good way to determine what keywords to target.

Enter one term where you know how much traffic it brings (because you're #1 for that term) and compare it in trends to one of the terms found in adwords.

Lets say you're #1 for mini dirt bike racing videos and it brings in 1K per month. Put that term in followed by a comma and the term you want to look up and then the graph will give you a decent feel for how much traffic you could potentially get at the #1 spot for that term. Just don't compare anything to Paris Hilton - she'll make your comparison line look like it doesn't go above 0.
