importing header.gif and nav.gif into wordpress

    hi all-

what i am trying to do is to synchronize the "look and feel" between my landing page (a simple template created in cs3) with my wordpress blog.

to keep it simple, i am not looking to overhaul the entire wp theme. i just would like to import the header image + nav tool bar (of course, the nav tool bar must function in wp).

can someone tell me how i can accomplish this task? i looked at the article at limpag but i think that is way too complicated for me (at least for now).

any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

    thanks

Hi sf49ers, and welcome to SitePoint!

What theme are you using, and what does your overall site design look like?

    hi dan-

    thanks for the warm welcome!

because i am new to programming, i decided to stay with wp 2.3 default theme (i think it's called kubrick?)

my current template is actually a template i "borrowed" from the "dreamweaver cs3: the missnig manual" tutorial (i bought the book to teach myself by the way).

sorry i had to block out the content; it's so not ready for viewing yet.

The default Kubrick theme isn't going to help you, given that it tries to cater to everyone despite failing with almost every attempt.

Why don't you unblock the hidden content on your image so I can see what's really there?

is there an alternative wp theme that i should go with that will allow me to import the header and nav bar more easily?

ps. the hidden block contains nothing more than some article snips (no links, etc.). i didn't want to look too amateurish so i blocked it out. i'll make sure to unveil it when it is ready though!

Unfortunately none that are ready for prime time. I do have one undergoing beta testing, but I don't want to get smacked for self promotion.

Which leaves me with the $64,000 of the day. Did you modify the Kubrick theme or does it bear the default WordPress install appearance?

That's very 1995, which is why some people don't even know what you mean. The modern designer cuts out the individual images for each link, and links the images to their pages separately.
