    Stealing my content!

Ok folks I got a big problem. There is this forum that my members have recently told me about. This rebel/destructive forum is looking at my members profiles, taking thier emails and signing them up on this rebel forum. Not only are they signing them up, but they copy entire posts and plug them into thier forum!

This is complete copyright infingement. I contacted thier admin, but he is a jerk and doesn't care. So I try to find thier host by doing a whois search. The host is thepulse.com or .net i think, but the site looks like it's not a hosting company.

    What should I do?!

    here is the site:

Create a new user group, say "old member", move all registered to "old member" group. Disable PM, email, profile, search etc. in default "registered" group. This will eliminate him to go around your forum and checking your member's profile.

Once the member have posted a few msgs, and you sure that member is ok, then move him from default to "old member" group, where they have all the functions as a member.

    how annoying

honestly, some people must have no decency (or brains).

Can't really help from a technical or legal point of view, but could suggest something from a PR point of view.

Maybe you could place an announcement on your message board (or better still, a button ad somewhere) advising that it has come to your attention that other sites such as XYZ thought your site was such a great concept they have been copying information & messages (don't say email info or member details as this may scare your members) and so for the mutual benefit of all members of your site, perhaps they could keep an eye out for copied posts. - hopefully this will discourage them from visiting the other site in case they are contacted.

just a suggestions - hope it helps

Well, here in Croatia, the laws about copyright (specially on the web) are HORRIBLE, so the best choice for me would be to go to the admin's house and kick his *** .
But, first try mailing the hosting company .

    re

Yep I would go with the kicking his **** method.

Also I would agree with Nina. Give his site some bad publicity. Use your homepage, forum, look at the associates on his site and email them regarding this bloke, ask them to remove his link from their site and if possible give him some bad publicity from their sites.
