Is a blog considered to be a meesage board or forum??

No. I think of a blog as being more like a series of articles with a separate message board attached to each article. Blogs are rarely used for discussion amongst users, unlike forums.
i would not consider it either... forum allows anyone to start a topic, while blog topics are started by the blog owner only with the potential for user comments
i consider blog more of a journal or diary because a forum requires 20 or more people and there is a diversed topics that you can discussed in
I consider a blog to be an online journal. You are journaling your thoughts and feelings on a certain subject. Unless you have a large following I think most blogs do not get very many comments on them. If it is a controversial post you may receive more comments than usual.

Blog is not a forum nor a message board but an expression of your feelings or thoughts towards to something or the environment that surround you...

A blog is chronological way of displaying information (sorted by date).
Go in Google and search for CMS.
A blog is a type of CMS.
A friend of mine says a blog is a glorified diary. I guess it depends on what you use it for.
A blog is anything you make it. Words, pictures, sounds, videos. Anything. It's just a specific format of a webpage usually sorted by date.

A blog is actually just a news system with a catchy name

A blog can behave like a forum, if it's popular enough to receive many comments. The blog readers might start having discussions among themselves, making the comments more interesting to read than the article itself.
