The introduction has to be a big boom. It has to give description and overview of the topic in very few and descriptive words, keeping inn mind that the words are not too much ambiguous, and it also be easy to understand for the commoners. A good introduction gives a good start to the article.

You're right it has to capture the readers attention in order to keep them wanting to read even the next paragraph let alone the rest of the article. I always think it must be provocative in that respect to arouse interest.

Simply, a quality article must have a "Quality" i.e. it should provide something new, something different information to its readers and create interest to read more and more.

In my opinion, aside from many factors of a quality article, one of the most important thing as to readers are concern is get them informed of something new which is somehow worth knowing.

Very simply:

- Enticing title, you have to make the reader want to click that link
- Don't babble on, make the first sentence very good. People have small attention spans, make sure you start well
- Make it easy to understand, not everybody will be an expert on the subject matter like you (might?) be, so if there are any ambiguous terms, explain them.

Another perspective, a quality article generates links, reducing the need to SEO the life out of your site.

If the objective is sales, the quality article moves the sales process. And you should be able to test the contribution to sales.

I consider a good article which has a catchy headline intriguing readers to read the entire post supported with unique content with appropriate keyword stuffing. Such articles has low bounce rate and fetches good web traffic to your website.

My question is how do do you measure how many sales are actually generated by your article. You could include a sale coupon code specific for the article but perhaps this would seem too tacky and sales oriented. If you do not use the specific coupon code, how else can you accurately measure the number of sales generated by your article?

They only approved unique and informative articles.

I have also used Associated Content http://www.associatedcontent.com but I do not like the restrictions for non-Americans. The beauty with them is that you can earn money from your articles based on how many page views you get. If you are an American, they will pay you outright for some of your content.

personally I dont think that only the introduction being engrossing help it all.the entire article must be factual or as it requires to be captivating to attract people.
