How to make money with high traffic site?

I know the obvious answer is CPM but i haven't used CPM advertisements since the days of $6+/ecpm at tribalfusion. Now I'm seeing eCPM that can't break the $1 barrier? Am I missing something here?

Don't know if you're missing anything, but have you experimented with various affiliate programs. Depending on whether it is a niche site, a site targetted towards a certain demographic, or just a general all around website, there are usually a few good affiliate programs worth trying out where the product should be a good fit for your visitors and your content. Test, test and test............

Wrong, Google penalizes sites that sell text links.

To answer your question, it depends on what you consider high traffic. If you have huge impressions daily then go with CPM all the way, probably ValueClick Media is the best CPM publisher program right now imho.

Check out other high-trafiic sites and look at their advertisers. Contact them to see if they would like to advertise on your site too.

It depends on your niche and site stats... If your PR is high then I don't think you will meet some trouble to earn money from it... Don't sell links, as far as your site will be penalized but affiliate reselling programs with good commissions can help you
