Thumbs up Page views? What is a good number?

When i look at the number of unique visitors and page views is there a relationship between the two?

For every user should i get "X" amount of page views, is there a standard?

Also, is there a correlation between page views and the amount of ad revenue you can generate?

Thank you a head of time!

It all depends on your traffic and how much they are interested in your content. A good number is over 3 pages per visitor < if you have a blog you should use more frequently the "more" option.

    Pageviews

If your getting over three page views per visit you are doing fine.

I have an article directory site that has thousands of article pages in it.

It gets around seven page views per visit from people browsing through

    the articles in each category.

pageviews are becoming less important with the introduction of Ajax and that model. It all depends on what sort of site you have. On a site where most of the functionality is on one or two pages and especially if portions of the page are being refreshed by Ajax callbacks, what does pageviews really mean? The key is how often they are using your site and how long they're spending on there.

I think that there is no some standard regarding page views. It's depends of site type. For blog for example more then three page views are great result, while for some forums ratio between page views and number of visitors could be very high

The only relationship is that the more pageviews you get per unique visitor can normally mean that your visitors are more interested in your site and you are likely to be getting more targeted traffic as well.

I was told 4 page views is a "sticky site". That means people hang around....

It depends on site. If it is selling a product you should be able to do well with low page views if they go and buy it. A info site or blog should have 3 or more and your doing good.
