Does SEO help on PPC campaigns?

Does a more content rich/search engine friendly site help you get a better ranking on PPC advertising?

In other words, if I am using a replicated squeeze page and paying $.98 per click would a better optimized squeeze page lower my per click costs?

You need to consider landing page quality score. The more relevant your ad, search terms, and destination page is, the lower you can get your bids.

You could say a well optimised page should receive a a good landing page quality score as it's been optimised for a certain term.

If you are sending lots of variously targeted terms to one page, you would be better creating more targeted landing pages and sending the relevant traffic to them, therefore increasing quality score and lowering cpc.

    From wiki:

Recently, the major Search Engines have adjusted their algorithms to better rank and sometimes exclude Squeeze pages that are considered to be "spam" due to their lack of content. In addition, some marketers have seen their pay-per-click campaigns being penalized by restrictions that prevent "affiliates" from purchasing pay-per-click advertising to build opt-in lists for future sales. In response, marketers have begun to increase the amount of content included on Squeeze pages to insure that their page maintains its search result rankings.

Second what the last two posters said.

Using the keywords that are in your ad on your landing page will improve your quality score and lower your CPC.

If you have replicated landing pages you won't be able to SEO them anyway. Google doesn't like duplicate content so forget about SEO and try to optimise for PPC. You don't need to be indexed at all for successful PPC.

Don't know, have a look, but here's a couple more useful links and I would second that marketing experiments recommendation, great site.

I think better conversion rate of your customers can reduce your costs. So yes, LP optimization is the key. Another fact that SEs are getting smarter, and they want to lead people (even via PPC) to the website that converts better and is paying 40 cents a click although there is somebody else bidding 90 cents but is listed below you on the PPC results.
