    Protecting a page with a password . . .

I'm needing to protect a page with a password, to where those that go to this page will have to put in a password to stay, and if they don't they will be auto-redirected to another page.

Is there a simple way to do something like this?

    Yes there is.

First you would use .htaccess to protect that page and then specify a redirect page for the specific error, I think its 401 Authorization required (Bad password I think)

Please see this page for detailed information.

I'm not worried about the page that I would want those without a password to go to. I'll make a page with a message telling them why they cannot get into the forum (I'm wanting to protect one of my EZboard forums from the public being able to read what is being said. The EZboard system has password protection from posting, but anyone can still read)

I'm wanting something I can put into the code of this private forum's code that will make those trying to access it to have to put in a password, or leave.
