Is telnet the only way to grant permissions for scripts? i.e. chmod 755 or whatever.

My ftp program is a little limited as far as chmod at unix goes.

Most ftp programs, such as WS_FTP allow you to change file permissions.

I have WS_FTP and the permissions are limited.

    I can't chmod 755 but I can do 766 or 744 or 777.

I use WS-FTP (the newest version whichever that is) and chmod 755 all the time. All 755 means is:
    Owner - Execute, read, write.
    Group - Execute, read.
    other - execute, read.

My ftp is a freebie, perhaps I should spend some cash on one.
