    Tags question

    Hey guys,

Looking for some advice. I setup (after weeks of reading!) a blog on Wordpress. Things are going pretty well at the moment although I am certainly still learning.

One thing is annoying me though that I just can't fix. Every time I post an article, I assign some tags to it. Now these are showing as stored in the admin, but I'm not sure where or when they come into play from the visitor side?

I thought it was a tool to enable searching or am I being stupid?

    All help appreciated :-)

I honestly don't know. I don't normally add tags though as I am lazy and never know whether they actually help search engines or just end up being extraneous info.

Tags are a recent addition to WordPress; previously people were handling them with plugins. If you're using an old theme or just any theme that doesn't happen to use any of the functions to display tags, they won't be shown.

You are better off by just adding a category for every post. Tags aren't that useful to readers.
