Force Programs to be Minimized at Startup?

    Hello all,

Is there some way to force programs to be minimized at startup? Most programs seem to do this, but there are a few that don't. AIM, YIM, Pamela, Keepass and something else I forget right now. There isn't some way for me to force them to be minimized, is there?

    Thanks for reading.

    Hello

I know you can right click a shortcut, choose properties and then under the shortcut tab choose "minimized" from the drop down next to Run?

    Did you already know this?

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

No, I didn't know that. I'll have to give that a try. I'm thinking it probably won't affect it if it's not calling the shortcut, but the .exe itself?

(I'm on Vista Ultimate, by the way).

    Thanks,

    Patrick

I tried something, but it didn't work. What I tried was to take the programs out of the startup programs area (the section under the Control Panel where you can edit the startup programs). And then I created shortcuts for each of the programs and set them to run minimized and then dropped the shortcuts into the Startup folder under Programs. But, when I restarted, they still popped up on the screen.

Thanks for pointing that out, though.

I found this, but it looks like it is describing pretty much the same thing as you tried:

    Thanks for the reply, Tom.

Though program settings, I was able to knock it down to just 2 programs that are doing this. AIM and YIM.
